2020-2021 Leadership

Accumulator Team

Responsible for energy storage and provision to a 100 kW electric motor. This years pack utilizes 480 of Samsung’s state of the art 21700 lithium-ion rechargeable cells.

Controls Team

Every wire, printed circuit board, and software running on the vehicle is designed, assembled, and tested by controls team. This years vehicle will run on a custom designed battery management system which will monitor  the battery health, ensuring the pack charges and discharges are within safe operating conditions.

Corners Team, Manufacturing Team

Corners refers to each wheel assembly of the vehicle: a complex mechanical system comprised of a custom designed upright containing the wheel bearings, the wheel hub, and the braking system.

Chassis Team

Responsible for design of the primary load bearing structure of the vehicle, this team interfaces with all other systems on the vehicle aiming to create a well packaged yet high stiffness space-frame.

Aerodynamics Team

Aero team is responsible for optimizing the pressure distribution around the vehicle. This years vehicle will for the first time feature a complete aerodynamics package - front/rear wings, a diffuser, and an optimized vehicle body.

Suspension Team

Responsible for maximizing vehicle traction and handling while maintaining a high degree of adjustability for tuning at the track. Modeling vehicle dynamics, predicting tire behavior, and making use of test data all fall within the wheelhouse of suspension team.
